About this blog
I’m Paul Hoffman. I started this blog in the middle of May 2007, and will be writing here about my many passions, from words and food to chess and other games. I am serially obsessive but not clarivoyant, and so I don’t know where any of this will take me. But please join me for the fun and add your comments to my blog.
I can be reached by email through my contact page.
My latest book is King’s Gambit: A Son, a Father, and the World’s Most Dangerous Game.

Paul, hi. I am enjoying your blog! I read your wonderful book, The Man Who Loved Only Numbers, a couple of years ago and loved it. I didn’t realise you were the author (I forget names easily) until I read the biog here. I was attracted by the chess elements of the blog. I have just started my one blog on wordpress and have been including lots of random chess posts too.
I look forward to the new book. I definitely intend buying it! Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m not always so good with names either, and can be halfway through reading something before I realize that I recognize the author’s name from somewhere but can’t quite remember where.
