64 Years for 64 Squares

Perhaps there is cosmic consolation that Bobby Fischer, a man who once said “chess is life” and devoted much of his to unraveling the mysteries of 64 squares, died at the age of 64.

    Yes, dieing at 64 also struck me as significant.

    One of Bobby’s maxims was, “If you want squares, you gotta give squares.” It was Bobby’s fate to have been given some very strong squares in his life, but in exchange for that he would have to accept the presence of several weak ones as well….
