I always liked this first sentence (it's the beginning of a quote from Paul Hoffman, speaking about his Woodstock residence) in an excellent profile written about Hoffman for a local Upstate NY magazine.  The quote has a certain existential and dramatic flair. The article was written around the time Hoffman's &lt;i&gt;Wing's of Madness&lt;/i&gt; book came out, and can be found here:
